BdS ART RESIDENCE

Thank you for your interest in our residency program!

We are really happy to welcome at Borgo del Sole professional and emerging artists from all backgrounds.

​

Our 2026 spring residencies are held during the month of MAY, between May 11th and June 1st.

​

We will hold a second OPEN CALL for our fall residency season at the end of spring. Our fall residencies are held during the months of SEPTEMBER and OCTOBER.

Below you will find the application form and details about the process.

The deadline for applications is February 15, 2026.

The international artist-in-residence program is open to artists and creatives working across visual arts, literature, performing arts, music, land art, site specific installations and curatorial practices, as well as architecture and design.

The program encourages creative exchange between practitioners and strengthens ties with the local community.

We will send residency confirmation to accepted artists:

Selection criteria:

• originality, innovation and quality of your artistic research

• proposed residency project (concept and technical feasibility)

• connection of your work with our key words: Nature, Art, Spirit

​

COSTS:

This is a self-funded, residency program, we try to keep fees as low as possible.

There is a daily fee of 45€. This fee covers the cost of running the house and labs, cleanings, providing social dinners and basics for the community cupboard while you are here. 

​

We are more than happy to provide letters of invitation for participants applying for external funding and grants.

​

Residencies are held for a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 3 weeks (longer stays could be evaluated case by case).

Below the daily fee on a weekly basis: 

• 1 week - single bedroom - 315€ 

• 2 weeks - single bedroom - 570€ *10% discount applied

• 3 weeks - single bedroom - 850€ *10% discount applied

• reserved apartment - Fienile - 630€/week

Please Note:
Double bedroom to be shared with an artist partner - extra 20€/day
Double bedroom to be shared with a non-artist partner - extra 30€/day
Double bedroom to be shared with a son/daughter - extra 20€/day

In possible to come with you family and pet (max 4 beds) only in a reserved apartment - Fienile - 630€/week

In addition, we ask for an interview/talk or open art class from each artist and willingness to be filmed and photographed during the research, creation and production of the works for our social media channels and to provide us with documentation for our records.

​

INCLUDED:

• A private bedroom with shared bathroom (one every 2 single bedrooms, outside the bedroom), some bedrooms have a private balcony.

• Once a week family-style social dinner prepared together.

• Access to basics cupboard (starter set toilet paper, oil, salt, spices, kitchen paper, coffee, sugar, tea, hand soap, dishwasher soap and washing machine soap) and kitchen to prepare your breakfast and mid-day meals and dinners when you are on your own.

• Free use of our laundry.

• A table and chair to work in your room.

• Free access to use our artistic and ceramic tools and basic art/clay materials.

• Free access to our ceramics and holistic workshops, which will be held during your stay.

• Wi-fi access.

• Use of common spaces: 2 shared spaces (1 indoor room, and 1 indoor/outdoor lab), kitchen, living and dining room, gardens.

• Free access to the swimming pool.

• Pick up/drop off from the local train station.

• If you are arriving by train and do not have a car, we can accompany you to the shops or do your shopping for you.

• The opportunity to organise an exhibition/event/ performance during the residency.

• Sharing and promoting your art works on our social media channels.​
